High winds at High House for the U14 boys first home game of the season.
A clash between Plymouth Oaks and Kingsbridge started with an intense defensive battle between both sides, keeping the score sheet clean for the first 10 minutes.
Several scrums against what looked liked a heavier Oaks pack, saw Kingsbridge boys determination in all its glory.
A well drilled 7 man lineout from the 22 saw the Oaks utilise the width of the field to cross the line for the first points.
Restart taken and the Oaks came bounding back down the pitch claiming two more tries and a conversion before the break.
Half time oranges and a pep talk seemed to lift the boys spirits as they came out all guns blazing.
A few phases and some quick ball through the hands saw Finley at pace cross the line for our first 5 points.
Tricky conditions saw Harley’s conversion attempt drop short.
Switching up a gear after a well deserved celebration of our try saw some fresh legs enter the field for the first time this season, welcoming Hector, Sam, Arthur, and Charlie H to the field.
Tough tackles by both of the Charlie’s, Tayte, Kit and Arthur saw Kingsbridge with the ball and advancing towards our line once more. A pick and go from the breakdown saw the fans cheering once more as Charlie W crossed the line for a glorious try.
The wind no issue for Henry as he made the conversion look easy, keeping him at 100% for the season.
A fun day on the field saw us walk away with a loss and final score of 26-12 but with lots of positives to practice over the next few weeks.
