Kingsbridge RFC
Old Plymothian & Mannamedian RFC

The A XV welcomed OPMs to High House looking to win their fourth Merit Table game in a row. Having lost a close game earlier in the season away to the Jesters, the home side were not treating this game lightly. However as the score suggests it was a bit of a one sided game, this was due to the away side being below strength, due to their first team taking some of their players and injuries to others, but they still managed to bring a squad of 16. I'm afraid this weeks match report is going to be a list of the scorers as for one reason I don't think the sports editor would appreciate an A XV write up taking up a whole page, and another reason is that  it is very difficult to remember how the separate tries were scored. So here goes, the try scorers were James Ogglesby 4, Dave (Bobby) Evans 4, Callum Holbrook 2, Sam Jones 2, James (Joe) Hannon, Sam Darke, Sam Scott, Joey Gloyn (his first score for the club) and Ali Hamilton. James Ogglesby converted 9 of the tries. It was good to see Buster James and Jack Cope back playing after both have had long layoffs due to injuries and they both had solid games which was to be expected. Even though Cope didn't score himself he was named man of the match for his all round play and being able to supply well timed passes that let the backs print in for some of the tries. Credit should also go the Jesters, they were 55 - 0 down at half time but none of them gave up, they played the game in the right spirit and got on the scoreboard after Kings (72 - 0 up at the time) were penalised in their own twenty two, their fly half converted the penalty with a drop goal and a loud cheer went up from the rest of the team. On Saturday the A XV are expecting a sterner test on the field as the travel away to Tavistock IIs who are one place above Kings in the table by one point. Hopefully Kingsbridge will continue their winning streak.
