As your Club, we will commit to the following framework, and as a member / player / volunteer, you are asked to do the same.
As a Club….
• We strive to provide the safest environment possible, and maintain our duty of care above all else.
• Affiliated to the Rugby Football Union & Devon Rugby Football Union we will adhere to their structure and guidelines.
• Follow the TREDS (Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, Sportsmanship) framework, and instil in our members the positive ethos and values that rugby represents.
• We commit to work with ALL players to assist in their development.
• We encourage restraint and control and so, physical, or verbal abuse by any player will not be tolerated. If this is witnessed, we will ask a player to sit out of their sessions for one week. If this is a repeated occurrence, in order to maintain a safe positive environment for all our members, we will not allow that member to return.
As a player….
• Respect your fellow players, coaches, opponents & match officials.
• Respect your Club premises and look after them as your own.
• Arrive on time with the appropriate kit.
• Train and play with a positive attitude, As a parent / supporter…..
• Be present at all times when your child is training or playing. On the rare occasion that this is not possible, you must inform the coaching staff of an alternative adult who is responsible in your absence. We are not a crèche - do not drop your child off and leave.
• Respect, support and encourage all team members AND opponents. Foul and abusive language will not be tolerated.
• Arrive on time.
• Communicate any prior incidents or injuries to the Team Manager or Head Coach prior to the start of any training session or fixture.
• If there is something you are unsure of, or unhappy about, please share this in the first instance with the Team Manager or Head Coach. As required, this can then be directed to the Club for clarification or resolution. Social media is not the appropriate vehicle for this.
• Demonstrate respect for all match officials, and coaching staff – they are volunteers too, and make their time available to give the framework for our members to enjoy their sport.
• Always remember this is a game, and it is for the development of our young players, and for the enjoyment of all – both playing and watching. Please ensure you do nothing that could diminish this enjoyment.
• Should non-members accompany you to the club, they are also required to uphold the club Code of Conduct.
